2022 Race Information

**TO BE UPDATED FOR 2023**

We are working hard to put on the same great race you have come to expect in Woolly Land.  From a race course and start/finish area perspective things will look much like they did last year.

In addition, expect to find Marathon Class back as well as Sir Smokes-a-Lot back to provide you with some post race BBQ.

Race Updates 7/4/2022

POSTED 7/7/2022 10:30 PM

Course marking has started and all of the course and parking maps below have been updated.

Course markings won't be fully complete until race morning as the course crosses a number of public trails and we will not be setting up the start/finish area until after soccer has been completed on Saturday afternoon.  It should be mostly sufficient by Friday evening for you to find your way around if you head out for a pre-ride.

Hey Woolly Land and MN MTB Series Riders!

Time for another go at the Woolly Race for 2022.  After a washout in early May we are hoping for much better weather this coming weekend.

This page is being updated with all of the latest and greatest information on courses, parking, and payouts.  Check it all out.

Possibly the most important thing to note is the parking situation this year.  With construction on going at the highschool, parking immediately at the race start will be extremely limited.  Good news though is that our title sponsor Trap Rock Brewing is just two blocks away and has room for us to park there and on the adjacent streets!

Cheers,

The Woolly Crew

Free SWAG

Every racer this year is going home with a new Woolly race coffee mug as the free give away.

Elite Payout

The City of St. Croix Falls Tourism Board has donated cash for prizes in the elite race.  Men's and Women's payouts as follows:

1st - $100

2nd - $75

3rd - $50

4th - $40

5th - $35

Start/Finish Details

Please note that the portion of the trail behind the school on the community walking trail will only be open for riding on race day.  Please help us be good trail stewards and do not ride the walking trail prior to race day.  You can enter West Ridge near the normal entrance to the south side of the school and construction area.

There are NO changes to the start/finish in 2022.  So the map below that states "DRAFT 4/182021" is still accurate for 2022.  Note that the start/finish area will not be setup until late Saturday afternoon the day before the race.  There will be soccer games occurring on Saturday prior to that.  Please do not interfere with other facility users during your pre-riding.

Parking Details

With the continued construction at the high school this year we are down even more parking spots that last year.  There is still plenty of parking in the area, but realize that you may have to park a little further away than you have in the past.  On the upside, you might just have to park at Trap Rock Brewing and stop there after the race...

Avoid road crud

Bikes are often on the back of a vehicle being transported somewhere. Driving along the road less traveled can be great—but what dirt and gravel do to bike components is no good.

No more hassling with offhand solutions

Hey, we’ve been there and done that. We’ve messed with plastic bags that flew off on the road and other crazy mishaps. You want to spend your time biking and not hassling with protecting your bike on the road. That’s why we created Bike Jacket! Easy, fast and effective.

We DO NOT have camping available at the race.  The high school will not allow it.  We have several great options within minutes of the race.
