Pre-Riding & Start/Finish Details

Courses will be marked (with orange W/B/C arrows) for pre-riding on Saturday.

There may be soccer games occurring in the start/finish area on Saturday.  Please do not interfere with other facility users during pre-riding.

For West Ridge, note that the portion of the trail behind the school on the community walking trail (shown as a dashed line on the course maps) will ONLY be open for riding on race day.  Please help us be good trail stewards and do NOT ride the walking trail prior to race day.

To pre-ride West Ridge, please enter the trail using the normal entrance south of the school (shown as a black line on the course maps and identified below as "Non-Race Woolly").

Reminder that courses are NOT open for pre-riding ON RACE DAY.

Parking Details

There is less construction at the high school this year, so we have more parking than last year.  Parking is also available at Trap Rock Brewing!

Woolly is excited for Trap Rock Brewing to be the presenting sponsor of the 2024 Woolly Race.  Not only are they the top sponsor, they will also be our next door neighbor to the race venue where you will find food trucks and recovery beverages.  Located just two blocks from the race venue you won't have a hard time finding them.

Trap Rock Brewing Company is a production microbrewery based in Saint Croix Falls, WI that uses mostly locally sourced ingredients to produce a variety of classic and cutting-edge beer styles. The recipe for a great tasting beer starts and ends with people. At Trap Rock, this philosophy is reflected in the way we treat our employees, patrons, and community. Trap Rock found its origins in the love of a craft. The product of that craft fosters an environment where people just flat out enjoy being together. Every member of Trap Rock's team is passionate about the beer that we make and the people we serve. When people think about Trap Rock's beers, we want them to think good people, good beer, and good life.

Protect your two-wheeled investment

Corroded chains, stuck cables, and pitted disc brakes wreck your ride and your bike. Bike Jacket is an easy, simple way to protect your bike from the elements that could damage it.

Avoid road crud

Bikes are often on the back of a vehicle being transported somewhere. Driving along the road less traveled can be great—but what dirt and gravel do to bike components is no good.

No more hassling with offhand solutions

Hey, we’ve been there and done that. We’ve messed with plastic bags that flew off on the road and other crazy mishaps. You want to spend your time biking and not hassling with protecting your bike on the road. That’s why we created Bike Jacket! Easy, fast and effective.

DIRECTIONS

Driving Directions from the Twin Cities

Take I-35 North out of the Metro to Hwy 8 (Exit 132) in Forest Lake.  East on Hwy 8 ( about 23 miles) to Wisconsin.  After you cross the bridge into God's Country, you will proceed about 1 mile and turn left onto Industrial Pkwy (opposite KFC) for 2 blocks.  Left onto Maple Drive for 2 blocks.  St Croix Falls High School will be on the right.

Driving Directions from the North (Minnesota)

South on I-35 to North Branch.  In North Branch go East on  Hwy 95 (exit 147) for about 20 miles into Taylors Falls.  At the stop light you will go right onto Hwy 8 into Wisconsin.  Proceed about 1 mile east on Hwy 8.  Left on Industrial Pkwy (opposite KFC) for 2 blocks.  Left onto Maple Drive for 2 blocks.  St Croix Falls High School will be on the right.

 Driving Directions from the East

Take US-8 into St. Croix Falls.  Right on Industrial Pkwy (opposite KFC) for 2 blocks.  Left on Maple Drive for 2 blocks.  St Croix Falls High School will be on the right.

(FYI - If you are coming to pre-ride or anytime other than race weekend, you will probably want to park at the Woolly Trailhead.  Instead of turning left on Maple Drive, you would turn right.   You will see the Woolly Trailhead directly ahead of you after driving 2 blocks.)

CAMPING and HOTELS

Please plan to make a great weekend of the race and head up Saturday...or even Friday.  Our first choice for your stay would be one of our past Race Sponsors at the Holiday Inn Express or the Dalles House Motel.  Be sure to tell them you are in town for the race!

We DO NOT have camping available at the race.  The high school will not allow it.  We have several great options within minutes of the race.
