Racers who HAVE NOT raced a Series race this year will pick up their race number on race day.  KEEP your race number for use all season.

Racers who HAVE raced a Series race this year will use their EXISTING race number and will NOT pick up a new race number.

(NOTE: If you've raced a Series race this year, but have now registered for a DIFFERENT class, you will pick up a NEW race number for your NEW class on race day).

Award ceremonies will follow each class of racing.  Medals (1st, 2nd, 3rd) will be awarded for all classes/subcategories as follows:

Comp (Age Group, Single Speed, Fat Bike)

2024 Race Information

Wright County Parks and Recreation is excited to partner with Minnesota Mountain Bike Race Series to host the first ever, Bertram Saddle Buster! This is a new race that will provide a fun, exciting course for all level of riders. The Bertram Lakes Singletrack has plenty of opportunity for new riders to find success and for experienced riders to find a challenge through its design. Riders will not be riding on the entire Singletrack Trail so we hope to see some of you come back another day for a trail ride. Couple of things to note:

  • The race will be start and finish on the north side of the park. Do not go to the southside trailhead. 
  • There is plenty of parking close to the start/finish line.
  • There will be many opportunities for you to watch the race from different parts of the park.
  • There will be food trucks on site throughout the day for you purchase from.
  • There is a pool and splashpad available for $10 per person for you to cool off and pass some extra time with.
  • There is a free public beach at the park for you to enjoy
  • Best of all, there is no charge to come to the park for family and friends.

General Information

The Bertram Singletrack Trail dates back to the beginning of mtb trail riding in the Twin-Cities area. Bertram is developing into one of the most exciting destinations within the MORC family of trails for challenging obstacles and features. 

Park Features

Outdoor Pool and Splash Pad: Monticello Community Center operates the outdoor doo pool and splashpad at YMCA Day Camp Manitou on the weekends. Operating hours are Noon-6pm on Saturday and Sunday. YMCA and MCC members get in free. Admission for all others is $10 per person for ages 3 and up.

Public Beach: There is a public beach within the park that is free to public to use during park hours (6am-10pm). There are no admission or parking fees for Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park.

Playground: There are two playgrounds at the park. One is located in the campground and the other is located at the beach.

About Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park

Wright County and the City of Monticello have partnered to create this 1,200 acres of open space in Wright County, known as the Bertram Chain of Lakes. The County and City partnership was formed with the goal of improving the community’s quality of life by preserving this irreplaceable natural area and creating a regional park for public enjoyment and recreation. The 1,200 acres of the Bertram Chain of Lakes property represents four lakes, acres of undisturbed shoreline, natural habitat, and oak forest.  

A Bright Future

The partnership was awarded a series of grants from the Parks and Trails Legacy Fund for the acquisition and development of this significant resource.

The race will Start and Finish at the NORTH end of the park in the area of Day Camp Manitou

Accommodations

Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park Campground

Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park Campground is a modern campground with 38 RV sites and 6 camper cabins. The camper cabins are available year round and can be reserved no more than 120 days in advance. Please note, during the winter months there is no potable water source for cabin rentals. There is a bathroom and shower available at the contact station for use by renters during the winter months. You can make reservations online. Space is limited.
