Race # 7 Border Crossing

Race 7 - Border Crossing - River Falls, WI - August 4

Race Description

White Tail Ridge
Corporate Park, River Falls, Wisconsin

KORC is proud to present the inaugural Border Crossing.  The White Tail Ridge course will challenge every type of rider. With a great mix of fast-flowing single track, roots and rocks, fast downhill sections, wide open fields, leg-torching climbs and our own signature elevated wooden berm.  Whitetail Ridge is fast-becoming a Twin Cities favorite for riders looking for an ever-evolving challenge. Each race course is tailored to meet the ability level of racers, yet pose a challenge to keep things interesting. Whether it's a leg-churning climb or a teeth-chattering downhill you crave, the trails at Whitetail Ridge will serve up something for everyone.

The race has evolved over the past 4 years into a great community fund-raising campaign in which the local mountain bike club, Kinnickinnic Off-Road Cyclists (KORC), has pledged to contribute a percentage of proceeds to the local Food Shelf. The other portion of race proceeds will be used to either build and maintain new trails at Whitetail Ridge or be used to promote mountain biking opportunities in the Twin Cities metro and St. Croix River Valley.

There will be rough on-site camping for those that wish to stay at the venue for the weekend and there are also a few great hotels very close by. River Falls and Hudson have an eclectic mix of restaurants and bars.

Sport, Comp, Expert Race Map

The 2012 course has several changes to the loop.  WTR is evolving and this should be one of the best courses we have ever had.  The Expert/Sport/Comp loop will challenge everyone and has a little bit of evertything.  The approximate distances are 7 miles per lap for the long loop. with Experts riding 4 laps, Comp riding 3 laps, and Sport riding 2 laps.  The citizen loop will be slightly shorter with a little less climbing and fewer technical sections and will be two 5.5 mile loops.  While the kids comp will be a bit shorter again on a 4.5 mile loop.
