Red Wing Classic
Red Wing, MN
The course in Red Wing offers something for everyone. Fast sections for the strong riders, tight and twisty single track for the technically adept, and a few good climbs for those people who like to go up. Sections of double-track scattered throughout the lap allow riders to ride their own race.
The Kid's Comp course this year will be the same as last year. 1 lap of a nice mix of flowing single track and fairly mellow double track.
The Citizen course includes the best of the flowing single track on the bluff but will avoid the hardest climbs on the south side. This course is also the same as the 2010 edition with 2 laps being run.
The Sport race this year will be back to 3 laps with a few sections removed from last year. The drop and climb at the far end of the course are not in this year's race. The quarry loop and the section just prior to it are also out. The 'Stairway to Heaven' climb will still be a part of each lap.
Comp and Expert/Pro women riders will be riding 3 laps and Expert/Pro men 4 laps. The course is similar to what was run last year with the removal of the gully drop and climb at the far end, but with the addition of the top section of the downhill course thrown in for fun. You will exit the quarry to the right instead of climbing back up to the arch bridge. Click on "Course Maps" on the left to view.
