MNSCS Introduces our new First Time Ambassador Program

Hello Series Supporters

The Series has done away with the First Timer class for the upcoming season and in its place were implementing a First Time Ambassador Program:

First Time Ambassador Program

2009 MNSCS First Time Ambassador Program
Have you ever found yourself wondering how your mountain biking skills compare with other riders in your area? Do you like competition, but are unsure what class you would fit in and how to prepare for an event? You are in luck; the MNSCS is here to help!

We understand that starting any new sport or competition can be a little scary. To help you through this transition we are pleased to introduce The First Time Ambassador program to the 2009 Series.

What you need to do: Send us a message 10 days or more before your first event to let us know you are planning to race. (http://www.mnscs.com/page/show/4829-contact ) One of our volunteers will contact you to answer any questions you may have and provide you with the details you will need before your event. In addition we will offer you a coupon good for $5 off your first event registration.

Some of the things we can assist you with:
  • Online registration process: What is the right category for you, can I ride 8 miles?
  • Bike set up: Is my saddle at the right height, do my tires need more airor less?
  • Pre race preparation: How much do I need to train?
  • Nutrition: What should I eat before during and after the race?
  • Course knowledge: What am I getting myself into, rock, roots, mud?

Q. What happens if I don’t contact you in advance, and I show up on race day needing some help?

A. No problem. We won’t be able to offer you a discount on your registration but we can offer you some last minute advice. Check in at registration and ask for a Series Ambassador. We will do our best to be sure you are ready for your event that day.

We are also looking for one volunteer per event who can assist new racers with any questions or assistance they may need. What we need from you:

To be available at the event of your choice at least 45 mins before the start of the citizen race in order to assist new riders with questions, bike maintenance, course explanation, registration assistance, etc.

If you are interested in becoming the First Time Ambassador for one of the 2009 series events please contact Dana Schoppe at d.schoppe@comcast.net

Thank You
